We left the Condo the 1st week of September, drove to Iowa and the farm. Packed the books in the truck and hooked up to the Travel Trailer. We arrived in Spencer, at the Clay Co. Fair the afternoon on Friday, prepared my book booth in the Agri. building. It was so hot Friday, until Wed’s. It cooled down late in the afternoon. What a relief that was. The family and old friends and new friends we visited with was wonderful. I set a new record for the sales of my Pioneer Series. How wonderful. I am going to make a call to the Iowa Public Broadcasting to talk to them about making the “Rose Donlin story into a movie. Home again to the farm, put the Trailer away for next year. Traveled to our oldest daughter “Cynthia” who is a Nurse Practitioner in Ottumwa, Iowa. We stayed all night with her and her husband Greg. Their daughter, Molly’s son Wyatt also stayed all night. He is 2 and 1/2 years old and so wonderful. We are back at the Condo in Chicago. The greeting from our little granddaughters, I should have taped. They grabbed my arms and kissed them over and over. Melonie [our daughter] said “Mom I’ll pass on that and just kiss your cheek. Next was grandpa’s welcome, he was setting on the couch and they leaped on him and smothered him with kisses. The love of a 5 year and 4 year old is so special.
